About the event
Most of us have struggled with the idea of why bad things happen to good people. This is known as theodicy, the search for God's righteousness.
In this multi-church Bible study, we will study the book of Proverbs. The study will cover both verse explication and as well as developing tools to help study Proverbs on your own.
Topic for This Week: How to Read Proverbs in Light of the Covenants (Abrhamaic, Noahite, Mosaic, Davidic, and New Covenant).
Last Week's Notes:
-Because the Hebrew language uses many different suffixes (word endings), rhyming does not work well. Hebrew poetry uses another structural device call parallelism to help emphasize the point of the proverb. Parallelism either restates the thought of a line, contrasts the thought of a line, or finishes the thought of a line in a line that follows. Whatever is restated, contrasted, or finished is the point of the proverb.
